Q-Vision – Automatic Load Volume Measurement

Prometec’s Q-Vision automatically measures load volume as a vehicle drives through the measurement station. Based on 3D laser scanning, the system integrates volume data into weighing and material receiving processes, reduces manual measurement work, and helps monitor material flows using up-to-date data.

Q-Vision detects an approaching vehicle and starts the measurement automatically. Laser sensors create cross-sectional and longitudinal profiles of the vehicle and its load, which the system uses to calculate the volume. The measurement takes place while the vehicle is moving, without a separate manual measurement step, making daily receiving operations faster and easier.

The system can be integrated with weighing and load information systems, allowing volume data to complement vehicle and load information. After unloading, the empty vehicle can be measured again. Comparing the measurements of the incoming and outgoing vehicle supports the monitoring of received material quantities, material balance management, and reporting. Stored results are also available for later review and traceability.

Q-Vision is designed for demanding industrial outdoor conditions. Its sensor technology takes changing weather and environmental conditions into account. Multi-echo laser technology helps distinguish the measured object from interference caused by rain, fog, and dust. Durable sensor housings and contamination monitoring support system availability and maintenance planning. A clear user interface allows operators to monitor the status of the measurement station, measurement progress and results, as well as view the measurement profiles of the vehicle and its load.
